Montclair State University Design Tournament

Yes it still works!

John Luttropp contolling everyone's brains.

Everyone's brains under the control of John.

Kwan eating a turkey sandwich.

John's collection of awesome design.

Last week we were invited to judge a design tournament at Montclair State University. It was great to see how much the University has grown, and the design program headed up by John Luttropp is amazing. It was great to meet Laura Dapito and see Kwan, a fellow graduate and judge at the competition.

It's now close to a year since we've been at our new studio and we haven't done a studio warming yet. For those of you who haven't seen the new studio, here it is.

Orange Love

Check out this awesome basket one of our clients gave us. I think someone loves us... Here's the breakdown: OJ | Orange Gatorade | Goldfish | Reeses Pieces | IZZE drink | Tootsie Rolls. Shout out to Chanda on this one.

Guitar Heroes - Stef, Chris and Zach Attack

So we caved under the pressure and bought Guitar Hero. Stef is definitely the best out of the bunch, but that doesnt say much since she plays at home everyday til the wee hours of the morning. We'd also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Zach Goodman (he's the one with the glasses and really intense stare). He will be around helping us on a freelance basis with some writing. He's a pretty good writer and he also shares his matzah, which is nice. Welcome to the team Zach Attack.

Cadillac Records on Halsey Street

Halsey Street is turning back the hands of time starting today. Stef gave me a heads up that there's some filming going down at the north end of Halsey Street by our old studio.

Here's the email Stef sent me from Ade at the Newark Art Supply:

"Halsey Street will not look the same from now until April 4th. A movie, Cadillac Records, is being shot right in from of our store. The block has been dressed to look like Chicago in the 1950's and Newark Art Supply will be turned into a pharmacy temporarily. Kinda kewl, eh?

The film features stars like Beyonce, Adrian Brody, Mos Def and Cedric the Entertainer. Word is that all these guys, except Beyonce who has completed her part, will be here from April 1 - 4 shooting all day.

Don't say I didn't tell you! PLUS, all this stuff coincides with an art show we are having for Dave Dziemian on Friday, April 4th, from 6-9pm...hope you can make it. If not, spread the word. Peace!"

Check it out if you can!

Frankie's Playce Teaser 3

Alright this place is 85% there, the kids salon is basically done and the party room is getting the last touches on the paint. Job well done guys.

Tritonic has official signage

It might've taken a year but its finally up and we're loving it! Just makes things that much more official.

The Wii Cup is ours!

I know this is really, really late. But I figured we need to brag a bit since the ladies are so good at it. Maybe this will motivate a rematch, or maybe we'll have the cup forever... Ladies...?

Family Success Centers Billboard

Here's a shot of the recently posted billboard we designed for Newark Now. This is prime real estate being that it's across the street from City Hall. Once Newark Now starts hitting the streets like this, you know summer is around the corner.

The Anstey Wedding - Kathy Griffin

This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of attending Brian & Elka's Wedding. Minister Kathy Griffin was there in all her glory. The Wedding was full of dirty jokes and laughs, chickens and goats. What more could you expect from a wedding at a farm. It really was a celebration of laughter something the couple holds dear to their hearts. We don't have space to show you all the pics, but here's a taste of this insane event.

Check us out, we're working! It's always fun to see people on the job. Let me also take this opportunity to introduce Erica Hauser and Lyanne Dubon to the team! They will be interning at Tritonic for the next couple of months.

Queens Office Update

All I can say is finally, this office is getting the flava it deserves!

Frankie's Playce Teaser 2

Here's more of a sneak peek at our previous entry to Frankie's Playce. I can't wait to see this place done!

Emiliani Farouk

Here's a hint at the second piece we've done for Emiliani Education which focuses on Hair and Beauty products.

The Atlas Solution

Check out this amazing campaign the Shops at Atlas Park is pushing. We were asked to develop the look and feel for this project.

From theAtlasSolution.com :

The US economy is experiencing a major slowdown --- one that seems to accelerate daily. Americans’ own attitudes about the economy become self-fulfilling, and so we hope to help Americans believe that we can influence our own destiny. The Atlas Solution will help us believe that we can impact our future. The sponsor, The Shops at Atlas Park, is part of the shopping center industry, and we are taking a step ourselves and are also challenging our industry to do the same: to inject saved cash directly into consumer’s hands along with encouragement to spend. If we all stop investing and hoard our dollars, the economy will worsen. Fear breeds more fear. If, however, we all take a step forward together, things will get better, sooner. Confidence and optimism about our economic future breed confidence and optimism.

We at The Shops at Atlas Park in Queens, New York are doing our part by giving away $20,000 in cash between President’s Day and the day in the spring that the federal economic stimulus checks are mailed. It is our sincere belief that this will lead to increased consumer confidence and spending in Queens, NY and in turn improve the economy.

Atlas Park Billboard Spotting

Here's a quick iPhone pic off the LIE, headed to midtown tunnel. It's always a rush to see our work at true scale. =)

a-list Wedding by d-list Kathy Griffin!

Elka Shapiro is the director of marketing at the Shops at Atlas Park (one of our clients). She is a die-hard Kathy Griffin fan, so when she became engaged last September, she knew immediately who to call-- Kathy herself! This wedding is going to be completely insane, and we're so excited to attend. The wedding will take place on Saturday, March 8th at a secret location in Queens, New York and will be televised on Bravo. More details and pics to come. BTW, we designed the invite. ;)

Brick City Development Corporation

The Brick City Development Corporation is a non-profit agency looking to draw private investment into the city of Newark, NJ. We were asked to handle the development of the identity and stationery for the agency. So here they are, hot off the presses. We're glad they gave us the green light for the textured paper. It really feels amazing, has a rough "brick" texture to it.
